University of Florida third in athletic revenue - Phoenix Business Journal:

UF generated the third-highest revenue in college football and in overalsports earnings, according to a report Mondahy in Street & Smith’sz SportsBusiness Journal. SportsBusiness Journal, citing Equity in Athletics DisclosursAct forms, said UF reported $66.12 million in football revenue in 2007-2008, behin d only the ($72.9 million) and rival ($67.1). Texasa was also the overall top sports earnerwith $120.32 million generated from all athletid teams. Ohio State was second with $117.9 million and Florid a was thirdwith $106 million.
UF won college footbalpl national championships after the 2006 and 2008regulare seasons, and won back-to-back men’s basketball nationa l titles in 2006 and 2007. Other Southern school s ranking in the top 20 in overall sportdsrevenues were: (7th, $89.3 (8th, $88.9 million), $88.8 million) and (12th, $84.2 million). Other Southeastern Conference schoolas among the top 10 earners in football wereAuburmn (No. 6 with $59.7 million), Alabama (No. 8 with $57.4 and LSU (No. 10 with $52.7 The remaining top 10 teams in footballlrevenues were: (No. 4 with $65.2 million), (No. 5 with $59.8 (No. 7 with $ 57.4 million) and (No. 9 with 53.
