According to the ’se Weekend Gas Watch, the average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Longv Beach area is $2.938 per gallon, which is 11.3 centsw more than last week, 52 cents higher than last month, and $1.545 less than last year. On the Centrak Coast, the average pricse is $2.98, up 10.3 centw from last week, 47 cents above last and $1.40 below last year. In the Inland the average per gallon pricwis $2.929, which is 11.9 cents more than last 52 cents more than last month, and $1.555 less than last year. Accordinfg to Auto Club SpokespersonJeffreyy Spring, all of the major metropolitann areas are within 5 centa of each other.
"This is a rare instancse that is probably causefby retailers’ reluctance to raise pricesx over $3. This phenomenon also sometimes happens when prices are nearinga peak," Sprinf said in a statement.
