Cheryl Dorman, West Coast Bank vice presidenfand Tualatin-Sherwood branch manager received the Tualatin Chambe r of Commerce Volunteer of the Year Award. The Oregon Tourismk Commission announced several 2008 Tourisnm and Hospitality IndustryAchievement Awards. The Governor’s Tourism Awardr was presented to Bonnie Lippitt for her contributiond throughoutthe state, including: Oregon Birding Trails, Oregohn Scenic Bikeways, Oregon Scenic Central Cascades Geotourism Initiative (with National and Sustainable Tourism Advisory Committee. The 2008 Tourism and Hospitalith Industry Achievement Awards were announced inthese categories: The Gene Leo Memorial Award was presented to Mt.
Ashland Ski Area for its Youthu SummerService Program, which provides teens an opportunity to learj about the mountain environment through hands-on projects and coordinates field study. The Creative Tourism Development Awarrd was given to Travel Salem andCorvalliw Tourism. The Volunteer Achievement Award was presented to David and Shirley Bridgham for theire leadership managingthe “Holiday Lights” volunteers at Shores Acres. The Partnership Award was presented toCoos Bay-Nortg Bend-Charleston Olympic Trials Partnership, whicbh secured premium booth placement at Eugene 08 and promotec the area by highlighting its connection to Stevde Prefontaine.
The Sustainable Tourism Awardr was presented to Full SailBrewing Co. for its commitmentf to sustainability. The Heritage Tourism Award was given to Missioj Hill Museumfor “Facing Statehood,” a sesquicentennial exhibition that reflecte on the years leading up to Oregon’s admissionj to the Union as the 33rd Outside In in Portland elected Darci Swindells to the board of directors.
