Proteob Therapeutics, a privately held biopharmaceuticaol company, was founded in Kansas City and now is basexdin Waltham, Mass., outside Boston. Its research facilities remain inKansaas City. Proteon is developing a blood vessel-dilating drug One of the main potentiapl treatment benefitsof Proteon’s productg is to help establish and maintain accesz points for dialysis patients.
Also Thursday, Proteon said the Food and Drug Administration hadgiven “orphan drug” designation to its drug candidatw for the treatment of two conditions in patientzs with end-state renal Orphan drug designation allowes for certain tax credits and an extendex period of data exclusivity, accordingt to the release.
